Shape

 

Shape is key because it takes those lines we talked about earlier and gives them definition and purpose. Every thing needs purpose even if it is just for fun.Websters definse shape as "the visible makeup characteristic of a particular item or kind of item <a cake in the shape of a Christmas tree>" 

The image to the left is a good example of shape because of its use of smaller shapes to make big ones. The stars look 3d almost, we will cover that in Form. The image below is another example of using smaller shapes to make a biger picture. This technique is called Tangrams.
