Perspective
Webster's defins perspectiveas "the appearance to the eye of objects in respect to their relative distance and positions" and as "the capacity to view things in their true relations or relative importance <trying to maintain my perspective>" . Both definitions of the word are important to design. The first relates to your general lay out. If you want to do a 3D rendering of a house you would have a horizion line and you would determine how many points you wanted to use. The drawing to the left, done by famous archetect Frank Lloyd Wright is a perfect example of two point perspective.
The second definition of perspective applies to design in that you have to keep perspective when working on a design. It is incredibly easy to get off track because something would look cool. Before starting a new design, sit down and think about what it is you or your client want to achieve witht the design you are about to start working on. My goal in creating this site is to showcase what I know. I hope that in doing so I can show that dispite a trade school certificate followed by multiple years of just dabbling in design while focusing on cleaning jobs, I do have a knack for design and am quallified to do the job I most desire to do.
